About Us

Welcome to the Elizabethtown Ice Hockey Club Website. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting youth hockey in the Elizabethtown Area. We are not affiliated with the Elizabethtown Area School District.

We compete in the Central Pennsylvania Interscholastic League (CPIHL) against similar teams from the region. Our hockey season generally occurs from September through February of the following year.

We practice at Klick Lewis Arena in Palmyra, Pa. The rinks we play at can be found on our Rink Directory page.

Fees and Games

The final amount for fees will be established when we know how many teams we have. You should budget approximately $800 for Varsity season dues and $600 for Middle School dues. We also offer a 50% discount for Goalies.

The CPIHL typically schedules around 18 games per season for Varsity hockey. We typically practice once a week during the season and anticipate about 12-15 practices. Last season practices were on a Sunday evening. Games may be on any night of the week.

Volunteering

Participation by parents, guardians or representatives of players to fill volunteer positions for each game is mandatory. These staffing requirements are mandated by the CPIHL and the Board of Directors can’t fill every position for every game. There may be a financial penalty and players may not be allowed to participate on ice if you do not comply. We anticipate each family having to fill about 5 positions for the season but the final number will depend on how many games the CPIHL schedules.

More information on the positions that need to be filled can be found on our Volunteers page.

League Requirements

The CPIHL requires players to be members of USA Hockey in order to play. Background screening for volunteers including coaches (head and assistants), officials, managers and other individuals who have routine access to children is conducted through the Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association.

We also adhere to USA Hockey’s SafeSport Locker Room Policy available on our Documents & Forms Page. Players, along with a parent, are required to complete an online training class for SafeSport on a bi-yearly basis. Completion certificates are required to be submitted to the EIHC Registrar prior to the first game.

Players, along with a parent, are also required to complete the Heads Up Concussion in Youth Sports online course created by the CDC on a bi-yearly basis. Completion certificates are required to be submitted to the EIHC Registrar prior to the first game. Our Concussion Policy is available on our Documents & Forms Page.

All players are required to wear full protective gear during practice and games. We do not provide the protective equipment. We do provide Jerseys that you return at the end of the season.
